Cost of prep'ing, painting, installing bodykit
What price range am I looking at in getting a bodykit installed on my gs4? This would include prep'ing, painting, and installing the kit. Oh, this would be for a full kit - front, rear, sides, and grill. I know it varies from shop to shop but i'm just looking for an idea of the cost involved. Thanks.

For my GS300 I was quoted 5 grand for full prep and paint of the entire car with a bodykit. This included fixing any current knicks and dings in the car as well using a Lexus white pearl.
A decent paint job will cost at least $1500, but don't expect flawless paint at that price.

Isn't there an option to paint just the bodykit and then install it? I don't really need the whole car painted, just the bodykit to match the rest of the car. But if is going to cost a grand upwards I'll just scratch whole bodykit idea and invest in some wheels.

I have worked with several high-end shops that were doing custom widebody installations and body kit installs- they all seem to agree the Civic crowd has "no money" and "all think their cars are show cars." Don't shoot the messenger here, I am just reporting my experience with this!
Personally, I would be very suspect of any shop that quoted me less than $1000 for installation & paint. Prep work can vary by the material of the kit- urethane kits sometimes need to be heated in the paint booth oven before being prepped- this is to bake out all of the release agents left on the kit in the manufacturing process. Fiberglass can have different issues- the bottom-line is almost all kits will need some type of work to get them to fit properly.
Also, by a "full kit" I assume you mean a "full bumper replacement" type, not an add-on kit?
The type of kit can also affect the cost of the labor and painting.
