Nothing, that I know of... although when asked questions like this, most CL members point the person to the Lexus web site to view the model differences. Only problem is, the site only shows 2002 and newer models. I really wish there was some sort of list somewhere else with the model/year differences for the GS, other than that stupid Lexus site. Perhaps one of the mods knows where one is

Actually it's there on the Lexus website still, they just don't list it in the menu any longer since most 1998 and 1999 do not qualify for CPO. We probably should pull it down into a FAQ in case it gets pulled off someday.

You can get to it by going to the model library for the GS400, then manually changing the year in the URL.

http://www.lexus.com/cpo/model_detai...9.html#changes

Changes Made To The 1999 GS 400

- Adoption of daytime running lights
- 50-state emission certification
- Transitional Low-Emission Vehicle (T-LEV) certification
- Floor mats standardized

I also recall the 99s have darker chrome headlights. Maybe you can confirm this with your cars Philip. I've seen it but I don't know if this happened to all 99s.

Is your car from Canada? I have not heard of any US car having DRL in 98.

Since Philip is from Texas (according to his info), I don't think he needs to worry about this difference. LOL.

I didn't know if there was a distinction between HIDs and halogens as far as the chrome color. Well, if Philip has HIDs (or not), at least that is another data point.
