where is stock amp?

Default where is stock amp?

anyone know where the factory amp is (not nakimichi stereo) in 00 gs 300?

I believe it is under and behind the glove box. You need to remove your box in order to have access to it.

are you sure it is there? do you know which plug it is, there are several large ones, i cant really tell where the amp is, it is difficult to see

do you also know which wire the amp turn on is? on the harness and on the amp? this car is diffucult to wire, anyone with info would be a big help. thanks

The amp is that silver box with 4 or 5 connectors. I dont know which wire is the one that has 12V when the stereo is on.

If I remember correctly it is off to the right hand side where the glove box is, by the side kick panel.....you cant miss it.

Default factory amp

On my old GS300 I had a Nackamichi system and the amp was in the trunck. It is by the passenger rear quarter panel under the carpet. On my gs400 It has the crappy pioneer and the amp is behind the glove box. You should pull it out it makes it a lot easier like mentioned earlier. I still have my car apart. I will post some pics tomorrow. I am trying to get the factory wiring manual like I have for my supra. My car was missing the cd changer and I purchased one and am trying to find the plug for it.

i believe that's correct, it shoudl be behind the side kick panel, just like the normal premium audio. since ML that's when they moved the amp to the trunk

thanks for the help. now i need to find out which wires do what on the harness. anyone know a good wire diagram?
