um, jeez, all my posts so far are asking questions, hope you guys don't mind.

anyways, I've noticed one thing, the door lock on my GS doesn't lock it by itself when I shift it into any gears other than P, nor it lock itself over certain speed, is this normal??? on other cars I've driven they all either lock themselves when shifted into D or over certain speed.

 

mine doesnt.

 

no gs before 01 does that. all the gs300/400 from 98 to 00 has the older type computer and it doesn't carry the cbest settings to automatically lock the door when you shift from park to R. starting from 01 the new computer has this cbest settings

i checked with lexus master tech about this already. i really miss this feature after driving my sc430

 

i kinda like the fact that my doors doesnt lock when i drive.. just hate when people would tug on the door handle when they exit the car..

 

well that's cbest settings so you can choose to disable it if you want at least you have the freedom. for my gs4 it's stuck

 

good to know, I was worry that something was broken or mess'd up.

 

just in case anyone wonders, i asked what does it take to upgrade the computer to accept the new cbest too. the answer? don't even think about it, just trade in your car and get the gs430
