Default Electrical problems in my GS430..Need input please.

Hey guys,

I just got into my car a few minutes ago and my driver side door locks failed to either lock or open. I then noticed my driver side power window switches won't operate any of the other doors except for the driver side door. Also, my seat memory buttons do not work at all. So basically, nothing on that door works except for the driver side window. I further noticed that the light that comes on when you get into the car is not working along with any of the A/C buttons. My nav display does not dim when its dark and my steering wheel does not move upwards when you take out the key. When I hit the climate button, the screen just says that the A/C is not connected. My gas light is now constantly flashing (even though I have a half of tank) and my air bag light is on. My key does not lock or unlock the car either, it only pops the trunk. What the hell is going on with my car???? I did a search to find a similar thread but the only thing close was a guy having a door actuator problem. I think my entire electrical system is messed up. Any input? I'm about to drop my car off at the dealer on Monday but before I spend an arm and a leg to get this fixed, I was wondering if there is a simple fix for this. Thanks in advance.

Eugene

Sounds like a lot of stuff is not working. Could be several fuses blown somewhere.

Hey guys,

Just to give an update, I started my car the following morning and it seems like everything is working again. To answer Chuckb's question, no the car has never been wrecked or flooded before. But, it has been raining like crazy here in So Cal but I'm not sure how that would affect these controls. Anyways, I think I'll take my car to the dealer this week anyways to see if anything major is malfunctioned or damaged. Thanks for you response guys. I will keep you guys posted.

I 'd be hoping it would do it again so I could drive it straight to the dealer. Intermittent electrical probs are the worst. I'm sorry to even hear of such a thing on a GS. Good luck man and let us know what you find out.

yeah it's been raining like hell in LA, but my wife is driving the gs4 and she has has no problem though. if rain really has anything to do with the problem, then it seems to me that some wires are exposed and causing some shorts here and there. that could be very bad.

i would hope that the problems appear again at the right place and time so dealership can take a look at it

Thanks everyone for your concerns. So far so good with the electrical problems. It seems like the zero problems I had with the car is all happening now, after 4 years. Due to the rain here in LA and the many potholes I've been hitting, I now have a bubble on my right from tire and my left rear tire keeps leaking air. (30K on some Eagle F1 GS-D3) I just got my Toyo T1-S today so I guess they're going on tomorrow. I think it might be time for a new whip.

I have the EXACT issue going on with mines after a rainy weekend here in the Bay Area.

door locks
steering wheel tilt
Power windows
a/c
even footrests light doesn’t work.
the dashboard light flicks & battery is drained

wonder what caused this, and if it can be repaired?

I checked all fuses and NOTHING is blown.

help pls?!??

You likely have a leak that's dripping on the body ECU behind the fuse box.
