Talking 2001+ GS430 traction control option question.

Did traction control and heated seats come standard? Or is it an option? If it is an option, is it in a bundle pack? If so what bundle pack?

Im looking at 2001-2002 GS430's primarily.

I did a search not much came up.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

From the ones I have seen for sale many seem to opt for the wood sterring wheel option which is good, cause I really like the looks of that. Also I cant imagine not having a cd player in the car. Im surprised it took to 2003 to become standard.

I have a 2001 gs430 and it does not have heated seats or a moonroof. It does have traction control though.

I'm pretty sure all GS430s come with wood wheel.

Nope, it was a $232 option in the 01 model year. Don't know if it became standard in any subsequent year.

I think the wood wheel came bundled with a option package you had to have on 430s. Did you ever see a GS430 without wood wheel?

No, it was available as a seperate item tho I wouldn't swear that it wasn't part of some option packages (at least, not until I go over to Lexus' website). But I'm sure you won't see many w/o the wood wheel simply because the dealer preferences were to have the cars heavily optioned. Mine was factory ordered (you won't see many cars with Levinson but w/o NAV, for instance) but I DID want the wood wheel.

Well on my '02 430 I don't have a wood wheel, nor do I have perforated leather seats, both of which is supposed to be standard equipment according the the factory brochure. But since I bought the car a year old and not new from the dealer I couldn't complain. Anyway I drove a loaner w/ a wood wheel and I actually prefer the feel of all leather, better grip and feels more secure for spirited driving. I do have heated front seats, which I rarely use (I wish air conditioned seats were included instead).

traction control is never an option, it's standard all the time. the heated seats are option, though in later years gs430, a lot of times they come with it.

2001 was the yr that more gs430 with different options were out, and you got to choose, and also you saw more gs430 with "missing" options here and there. since 02, more and more gs430 come "loaded", like nav and ML (they now come together), heated seats, wood wheels, etc...

It is a stand alone option - unfortunately, for 2003, 2004, and 2005 there were so few GS430s produced that most dealers ordered them optioned up to the hilt. So it is rare for any 2003 or higher GS430 to not have the option.

Perforated leather seats became standard in 2003 on the GS430. The GS300 Sportsdesign had them as standard however.

...and I could not agree more about the wooden steering wheel - it may look nice but it is not functional.

Hey Henry- Is the SC steer wheel interchangeable to a GS? I thought I saw a pic of a SC430 wheel that looked exactly like my GS str wheel. If so, you could trade someone

Seriously though, I really like the wood. Maybe because it's usually hot here and the wood is cooler to the touch.
