The rings around the new gauge panel aren't really "chrome". They are just silver, a sort of metallic look, but the still look cool (I still think real chrome would have looked better).

Anyway, if you wanna know what they look like, I suggest you download quicktime (if you don't already have that free download plug-in on your computer) and visit lexus's website and see the whole interior of the new GS430 in 3D. Or if you have time, you can just go to the dealer and look at the new GS.

Here is the link of the lexus website 3D GS interior:

http://www.lexus.com/showroom/model/...or_360_qt.html

what I want is that GSs430 wood wheel (with the chrome lexus symbol) and the chrome ring around the shifter !!! But I don't wanna pay close to 2k for the wheel nor more than $500 for a whole replacement center console !

Default Thanks..

Thank you for the info. I tried looking at the QT interior of the GS on the Lexus web site, but the image quality is very low, and I can't really get a good impression of the new look. I will make a trip to a dealer someday to take a glance.

Thanks again.

Look at the pic posted above by zz231. Don't you think that chrome symbol and its surrounding frame would be nice to go on a pre-2001 gs3/4? I have asked many places for the 2001 steering wheel "cover" (only the pad/cover part, not the actually circle/wheel itself). And almost everyone tells me that I would have to get the cover AND the airbag which will cost $650, can't get just the cover. Also, they said that even if I did find just a cover or even if I decided to go ahead and purchase the cover/airbag for $650, then I woudl have to have an expert do the install because of the airbag problem (deactivating, etc).

Does anyone know anything about that?

hey nanotech, i am thinking exactly of what you think, quite frankly i don't give a damn about Air bag, cuz i never use it =D .... if the whole thing costs within 600 or 700 it's very tempting, cuz that thing sure rocks.!!
keep me updated

$650 for the cover w/airbag, plus installation by an expert (lexus dealer). I think all this would cost close to $1,000 just to get a 01 steering wheel center cover/pad for a pre-01 GS. I don't really think it's worth it for the price, but if you think so, then just ask Steve for the cover (the center part with the lexus chrome symbol) and go to your local lexus dealer to do the install.

I didn't understand the following parst of your signature, Enkei Milanos Terazo, 2001 blue tinted HID, and Quantum Tinted windows. What does all that mean? quantum tinted? blue tinted lights?

okay Nanotech, Terazo is the name of my rims, and it belongs to milanos series. i have a 99 gs, so i bought the 2001 oem lexus HID, (which replaces the whole headlights.) the 2001 HID headlight if you look close, you can notice the blue tint in the headlight. as soon as you have two cars together, you will find out the difference soon. Quantum tinted windows is the most advanced windows tinting now, it's like titanium dark, but it's more reflective. this tint will never fade or turn purple. and it looks awesome for your luxurious lexus.

You have a gs300 right? (v300) So your GS didn't have HID to begin with? I guess it wouldn't be wise for someone with HID to upgrade to 01 blue tint HID, because I am sure they cost more than 3k if you get the whole system, but $500 or so if you just get the lens.

The blue tint must be in the lens or the bulb right? It can't actually be in the electrical mechanism that actually makes it blue. And if it is indeed in the lens itself, then getting the 01 lenses would mean you would have the blue tint in your lights, making it look exactly like the 01 GS?

Thanks for the info about the "Enkei Milanos Terazo", I knew they were probably a brand of rims. I just got the legal-limit tint on my GS. I think if you go too dark then it looses some of the luxury aspect, plus mine is gold, a really dark tint would look good on black or silver, but in my opinion, lighter tint would look good on gold. Plus now I never have to worry about getting a ticket because of my tints ! How much did you tint and installation cost you?

getting 01 lenses mean you would also get the HID and with a bit rather green tint inside. yes it makes it exactly like the 01 GS. and it's very very nice looking especially in daytime.
i have a black car, so my tint so far haven't got me into troubles, probably because it's darker in black car already. my front tint is lighter, yet still maintains mysterious appearance = ) . i got my tint for 400 .....originally 450. it's expansive, but i don't regret = )

But what I am asking is whether or not the blue/green tint is on the lens or the "light", with light I mean the electrical stuff also. Someone quoted me a price of about $274 for just the lens itself, but $3,500 for the whole HID "system". Which did you get and how much did it cost you?

i think the green tint is inside the lens, i got a complete HID system for 950 dollars, basically he ordered the HID lenses which came with HID from Lexus. i think your "system" means connecting the wiring in the HID to do the autoleveling. i don't have that ... (well. it looks superb on the first 3 seconds when it's adjusting, but after that's they are the same thing = P )
so hopefully i answer your quesiton?

Yes, that basically answers my question, so its only in the lens. Is the green tint on both the larger outer light and the inner smaller ones or just one of the two?

Someone had quoted me a price of about 1060 for the left headlights, 1060 for the right headlights, and 254 for the left foglight and 254 for the right foglight all for a 99 GS400 (HID included). Pretty steep price in my opinion, and that's not including some other parts nor installation !

Since the green tint is only on the lens itself, it makes it easier to upgrade, only 274 for each lens !
