I really wanted to get Iforged Flux for my GS but I found out they are not hub centric. Isn't that kinda cheesy?
Who wants to put spacers in a brand new custom set of wheels.
So I'm liking the HRE546R alot. I know they are pricey but how much should I expect to pay for 18x8s. Where is the best place to buy HRE wheels.
thanks,
chuckb
BTW-anyone have pics of HRE546r on a GS?

The HREs are nice but they do come at a premium. As for iForged, they are not the only ones who have wheels that are not hub-centric. Many JDM wheels are like this also. What is done to fix this is to put on a hub-centric ring. This is totally different than putting on a spacer.

I agree, a small ring and a spacer to 2 horses of completely different colors!!! A spacer changes offset, can please extra wear on bearings, etc while a hubring simply ensures a perfect centering on the hub. Its about the size of an average centercap (maybe a wee bit bigger).
I have all the respect in the world for HRE, but I guess the question is, are you willing to pay double the money for equal craftsmanship, finish etc to negate the need for a small hubring?
That answer lies with the individual. Good luck in whatever you choose

....u don't need a spacer u just need a plastic ring that goes on the rotor. my wheels have this as do almost all JDM wheels i know. its just a small plastic ring, nothing major....
I had non hub centric high quality 18" JDM wheels (8.5F and 9.5R) with centering rings and was never able to get a perfect balance. With the 19" HREs I have now? NO problems with balance at any speed.
IMHO chuck, if you're picky about ride, get the HREs or another hub centric rim like LSportline or an iForged one that is hub centric.

One other thing, you mentioned getting 18x8s all around, if you're going with HREs, I'd recommend staggered, although if you get 18 in a wider rear size, say 9.5 (typical), and a decent sized lip it will make the rim look SMALLER than it is. But if you get same size all around, they will look inset in the back wheel well without a spacer. Tough choices...

thanks Bit- that's what I figured. Which HREs do you have and any suggestions on where to buy?
Are any of the iforged hubcentric?
BTW-I'd even consider stock GS chrome 5 spoke 17s if anyone has some laying around or knows where to get new ones
