I'm about to have my windows tinted this weekend at a shop. Do I have to make sure they are clean before going or are they going to do that for me?
Also, being in California, I know you aren't supposed to have any tint on the front driver/passenger windows. Would I be able to get away with %50 tint? I'm thinking of %35 tint for the other rear windows.
And for those of you in the LA/San Gabriel area, can you recommend some good tint shops?
You don't have to do anything to the windows before you go in there, as they will do it all. If they have to take extra time to get off any kind of film or grime, they will charge you extra for it. As for the 50%, it will be noticeable, so if they are really strict and pay close attention to such a minor detail, then would recommend a lighter % of tint.
i've got 50% in the front and rear doors, 35% in the rear windshield and so far, law enforcement has not bothered me. *knock on wood* if i see CHP on the highway, i pull back my moonroof cover to let in more light. that way, my interior looks brighter and the tint looks lighter.
Bastards got me twice.
From my experience, if you have any tint at all they will see it. Just depends on them if they want to bust you for it. With CHP, you have a better than average chance of getting busted, if they want to bust you. All you can do is knock wood.
well if you have 50 in the front and 35 in the back, the contrrast is going to make them think ther eis nothing. specially if you have light interior it's going to help
