Default ***problems, need advice***

The automatic door lock on the driverside front door is not working. Is there anything that I need to replace? I already had 60k miles no more warranty.

Also, when I start the engine yesterday morning I hear a loud squeezing noise from the engine. The sound persist until probably after 20 minutes of driving.

Lastly, when car is in idle position, metal flapping noise comes out from the bottom of the the car. Any input??

(My 97SC never gives me any problems like this...)

The infamous door lock acuators. Everyone will have this problem on there GS sooner or later. Try calling Lexus Hq and complaining its worth a try. We should all have a petetion and have them replace it for free. I would pay for the labor if they cover the part. Hell I already replaced 2 doors and a 3rd is acting up now. The dealer isnt gonna make another $450 off of me

Wasn't there talk of a "Group Buy" for these parts? Someone do a search as I thought Carson was considering offering us the good guy price for these.

Before you do any of that, PLEASE check the fuses. I had a fuse go on mine and NOT the actuator. Saved me a lot of cash.

The sueezing noise is your serpentine belt.. that's an easy 30 or so dollar fix.

Anthony,

I think you are right. Dealer just called and they say that is the problem. but they are charging me 120 for everything I think. They will cover my actuator for me under warranty. I don't think it is fuses because only one of the door is not working. Is 120 too much for that?

When my fuse blew, it was only the passenger side and not the driver side so dont discount the fuse.

120 is probably reasonable either way since labor=$$$
