When good MODs go bad!!

My GS4 is supercharged, that's the only reason i considered the alteration to be possibly worthwhile. But I do agree with your rest of your statement, especially now having learned firsthand the hard way
The other thing I've come to realize is I'm sure Greddy went through all the possible combinations in piping in testing there product to produce an exhaust system that would give the best results in sound and performance for our cars, so it was completely foolish of me to believe I'd be on to something bigger and better than what i already had...oh well, I guess we learn from our mistakes. I'll have to report back to you guys tomorrow on the final outcome.
Hey, don't be too hard on yourself; I know how frustrating this kind of thing can be (I won't go into how I know

I did regain a little torque on the low end and I still notice a difference on the high end. Maybe I hit a happy median. Anyhow, they are letting me drive the car the rest of the week to decide if I really like it, and if not, by weekend they will still replace my stock- all of this is at no additional cost. So I must say, they have been extremely cooperative and geniune in making certain I'm completely satisfied.
I know I want to get someone else to drive the car so that I can get a perspective from another driver's/pedestrian's standpoint. I want the aggressive sound (like I had) but not so drastic where most people will think it's too obtrusive for a luxury ride.

We've gone through this sort of mod on our 4.6L modular Ford engines with the same outcome as yours. Since the engine is on the small side for a V8, as well as having DOHC, going to larger piping WILL decrease TQ. (This is no 5.7L Vette..the Vette responds well to "old school" mods..It is still a pushrod engine.). But a mod that works exceptionally well (in addition to sounding rippingly cool) is the addition of an X-pipe...or two. Some people prefer two, as it seems to cut down on droning a touch. It should give you back some TQ. Currently, most anyone modding a DOHC Ford V8 runs the X pipe set-up. There is no reason why this doesn't apply to the Lexus....I just haven't got around to doing it on mine yet, but I can assure you, I will. I also know another member is in the process of doing it as well....And the sound is awesome. Unlike a muscle V8 sound....more like an exotic/European V8 sound. Raspier, A little mroe shrill...sounds like a revvy race car sound as opposed to the big fat American V8 sound. Anyways, here's a pic of a dual X-pipe.....
Where do you get those x-pipes? Are they available at any reputable exhaust shop? I've been contemplating on wheather or not to get a true dual exhaust set up for my GS for a long time now. I would leave the cats on with an H pipe dual exhaust set up. I would want flanges like the stock exhaust, so I can easily bolt it back up to stock. Has anyone tried this yet? Please let me know. Thanks
Will
