Default A question about my 04 GS300

Hey guys

How are you all doing?

I have a quick question.

While cleaning my car today, I found a small plastic bag with two rubber pieces.

It says,

"IMPORTANT"

These plugs are for plugging holes shown below. Please do not fail to attach these plugs before customers receive the car. Service holes for fixing.

There is a picture of the GS and two arrows pointing (beneath the car) towards two areas where these rubbers need to be attached.

I have driven this car for three months and nothing has happended.

Does anyone know what it is? Can I just ignore it?

Thank you.

-Donald

P.S. I called Lexus of Manhattan but they put me on hold for several minutes. I called again and the guy didn't know what it was so he told me to just make an appointment. Lexus of Manhattan.....*SIGN*.......

I think I posted a thread on this as well. If it's what TLW is referring to, then it's the rubber plugs that plug up the holes in the undercarriage that are used to carry the cars down the assembly line during production. And yes, they make a huge difference in terms of "wind noise." With the plugs out, wind rushes up through the holes (especially on the highway) and travels up through the A-pillars, right next to your ear, and makes it sound like you have a bad seal around your windows. You can check them yourself to see if they're missing (and you can't miss it). The holes are located just befind the front wheel wells, maybe 1 foot in from the side of the car. Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, the plugs are about the size of 1/2 dollars and are generally flat but the center part of the plug is offset from the perimeter. Hope this helps.
