Default Steering

Hi folks,

Great club here .

My 98 GS400 had a steering problem. Whenever I'm doing anywhere from 65mph to 80mph the steering and part of the car (seats) vibrate. I've done 4wheel alighnment and balance twice and I can't solve the problem.

I did a search and I did find that tightning the "steering wheel tentioner" helps. Is there any other cure for this?

BTW its bone stock GS with 60,000 miles. No accidents.

thanks.

I had this same problem. Had my stock 17's rebalanced 3 times, still shook

here are my thoughts:

1) when steering wheel shakes-its ur front wheels
2) seat shakes-its the rear wheels
3) both shake-its all four wheels

I replaced my stock 17's with the L-tuned wheels and vibration is gone 100%. Turns out stock rims were ALL BENT!!

The stock rims IMO are too weak and bend easily. I would replace them as 17's can be had pretty cheaply and have the replacements high speed balanced on a HUNTER machine ONLY!!!

it's the bottom of the steering rack. if the wheels are all ok and balanced, then it's the inherent problem on the GS
