Scratched rims!

I was going through a wash, this morning and must have hit the side tubing (the ones that guide the car).

Anyway, two of my rims have some scratches and dents on them. I am very disappointed. Is it possible to fix them, or do they have to be replaced?

They are 18 " non-chrome alloy with some kind of protective layer. They came as a part of l-tuned package and are called "Salina," on the l-tuned web site. I wonder how much these two rims will run me, new.

Thanks.

Hi,

Those rims are somewhat expensive to buy separately. I think in a package they cost 2105 for all four rims and tires. However, as separate pieces, I believe I was quoted around 2200 for just the set of rims - which is about 550 a piece. There are a variety of wheel repair centers that can repair the rims for less than a hundred bucks each however, you have to take the tires off and ship the rims to the place which is a big hassle. Plus, if you don't have extra rims, you cannot drive the car. You can do one rim at a time but the turnaround takes months...

If you live in So Cal I have a great recommendation for a wheel repair shop. I have bent many a rim with potholes in the street and they have fixed it like new for 40 bucks! Once again, you would have to take the tires off at a tire shop and just deliver the rims to them for work. Turnaround time is 1-2 days. Let me know if you want the reference. Hope this helps...Sorry to hear about the scratches.

Heh Heh...I will need you in about a month or so. I was scoping out future mod acquisitions. You are in my catalog of contacts for the Bilstein's. I am spreading all the mods out over the next few months so as to not incur the wrath of my wife. This month's special is rims & tires, and Win Racing spoiler. Next month, suspension, and the month after that...Exhaust and intake/ECU.

Blan, what did the car wash say when you complained to them? They should compesate you with something. I go to a hand car wash only but $20 a pop kills me.

Blan,

Try Wheels America at www.fixrim.com

I used them with good results. So have others here.

Tell your nearest location that Curtis Hanson, their Asst Mgr at the San Francisco/Union City store has arranged a $99 aluminum wheel repair for ClubLexus, that's $10 off reg price.
