I bought a spare passenger-side A/C vent and would like to do some custom claying/moulding to make a cell phone stand on it. Then if I can do an OK job I will work on the center vent for something else.
Soaristo's custom job really inspired me:
I'm thinking about doing something similar, but without the wood pattern. Just paint. Where can I find some putty/bondo that's relatively easy to use, not too expensive, but will be strong and easy to paint?
could someone give me a brand or a product name? any help is appreciated. Thank you!
I assume you have a North American version GS and your passenger side vent is next to the glove compartment? If this is so, good luck trying to remove the vent, there is a phillip head screw in the upper left hand corner that is impossible to remove.

it's hard to remove the whole vent assembly, but removing just the outer cover / vent fins part was very simple. Just used a flat screw driver and it took me about 1 minute. Almost broke it but I bought a spare one so even if it's broken I can still just bondo and something afterwards
