Default Price Check #2 2000 Lexus GS400

Hello People...long time lurker, first time poster. I've found a pristine 2000 GS4 with HID, Navi, Spoiler, Chrome factory 17", Outstanding looking (and heated) seats, in Pearl White with 74K miles. This is a Lexus dealership car and and they are asking $24.9K. I thought that was a bit high, but wanted to run it across the experts. What do you think? Thanks in advance...

That is not way too high, IMO. Especially considering it has navi.

I paid $23,600 for a 2000, non-Navi, Nakimichi car with 44k miles back in March. Others on this site have told me I got a steal.
If it is as clean as you say it is and has complete service history it doesn't sound too high at all for a Nav car.

Edmunds comes up with; Trade in $23,106 Private party $25,879 Dealer retail $28,955, but that is in outstanding condition, bump it down to clean condition and you'll have a few hundred less.

Hmmm....it's been on the lot for a little while...I assume most passersby would rather get the GS430 sitting next to it with half the mileage and no navi for $5000 more. With that kind of mileage, I'll need major service done soon. The car is so beautiful, though. Thanks for the input, guys...

Offer them 24 out the door and throw in a Nav update. Remind them how many miles it has and how long its been on the lot especially when it's end of month and quarter.

**How much they are willing to part with it depends on when the next buyer will come in.

Wait till the end of the month to haggle some #s b/c from what I heard, salesman need used car quotas also??? Just another thought. Mileage sounds just about right, 15k miles per year for 5 years= ~75k miles roughly. Try the $ a little lower, like 23k OTD and work your way up, not down. Good luck. Keep us posted.

I still say too high.

Is it Certified Pre-Owned?

If you check on ebay, or other online listings, you'll be able to find one at a cheaper price.

May be just me, but out of all of those I clicked, only one had navi.....let alone HIDs/seats/ect....When I was looking I found that the navi cars were few and far between (especially in clean condition) so I wouldn't be suprised if that is a good price depending on how many with those options are in your market area. Everyone always says they are cheaper, or should be, but when it comes time to buy you find out was actual value/price is. In my area phx, az the non navi cars were bringing close to 20k at the auctions (wholesale), and you have to add tax, buyer fees and a few other fees to that, bringing the final price to over 22k, and thats what dealers pay for these cars. (I have friends in the buisness) I ended up buying mine private party and getting it for about what the non navi cars went for at the auctions.

Don't know if I'm allowed to post ebay links....but this may help the buyer. Mods, please delete if ebay links are not allowed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought ALL '99 & '00 GS400s had HID and heated seats as standard equipment.
