Yup, you guys are right. HIDs are optional.

Has anyone seen a bare to the bone GS400? Most GS4s that I see have at least the Premium Pkg (the cheapest pkg) that comes with HIDs, moonroof & heated seats.

I think a GS4 w/o any optional equipment is few and far between.

If it is clean I would say that the price is very competitive to what I found just a couple of month ago when I bought my GS. I saw many at dealers between 20-23K that all had 60,000 miles plus on the ODO and that was for 98-99.

Sounds like a good price but I bet they would go down a little further...

DON'T WAIT!

Most of the GS's I was interested in didn't even make it though the week before I could even get over to look at them!

Wow! Thanks for all of the responses, guys! As a matter of fact, here's the actual car:

As I stated, It's very, very clean. I'll try to talk to the guy this weekend (earliest I can get there) and post back. Thanks again for the responses...[

If you are buying from the dealership that's not too high. You can probably get it cheaper from other dealers or private owners.

But for a peace of mind I'd rather get it from the dealer.

That price is very reasonable. However the mileage is tidy bit high. Like everyone else here was saying, keep mention to the sale person about that when negotiating. Do you know how long it has been sitting on the lot? Usually if the car was over 90 days on the lot, the dealer will take a lost. Otherwise the car will be resale at the dealer aution. My .02

I also dont think that price is too high from a dealer. It looks like it is in good condition. Also is it certified? If everything checks out I would say go for it

Not totally sure about how long its been sitting on the lot, but at least a month (I've been monitoring it in passing for that long, at least). I'm only just now getting serious about it. This car is the only GS in the row that's not certified, probably because of the mileage.

Have you driven it yet or even heard the engine turn over?

I have not done either...planning on doing that this weekend. The dealership is usually closed when I get off, so I'll have to try to catch them on Saturday...

I have one. I added my own 18" SSR wheels, ebayed the 16" wheels.
Added the factory spoiler, Didn't need NAV. Springs and shocks.
I'm a happy man.
When I bought back in 2000 you had three choices.
1. Premium = bare bone package
2. Nav
3. Nak

You forgot the Platinum Pkg. I really liked the platinum pkg. The preforated leather....the nicer (IMO) bird's eye wood.

alex, so you have a bare bone GS4? Meaning the car w/o ANY pkg? Wow! even if I wanted one, I think it'll be a hard find! Everyone seems to have at least the Premium Pkg (the cheapest pkg) around here.

No I have the Premium Pkg.

Heated Seats, Moon Roof, HIDS.
I got mine in January. Then later in the year they came out with the Platinum w/ prefreated seats and different color on the wood trim.

So you are right there is no such thing as bare bones on the 2000 GS400.
