Default Jet Chips for the GS4?

Get this it sounds false.

The local tire store just sold the new GS4 owner here a jet chip ECU for $400, which he claims increased the HP by 30? Is this possible, upon reviewing posts about chips it seems quite exaggerated?

As far as anyone knows, in the US, there is no one that has a true ECU reflash for the Lexus GS because Lexus will not release the codes to anyone.

Everything here is done by a piggyback ECU which requires soldering into the main ECU wiring. 30HP is not a feasible amount and even if that driver dynos the car and realizes a 5HP increase, the response will be..."well, Jet claims UP TO 30HP" which is complete and utter BS...

This is the unfortunate thing about Lexus. Other cars (eg, like my Evo, for example) have multiple vendors providing reflashes of the ECU. They can do it after EVERY MOD if they want to in order to tune it better...I am jealous...

PS: Ya should have helped a fellow GS owner out by letting him/her in on the scoop that it's poop. He/she would thank you for saving $400!

I would have, but I heard about it after I met him. he did this as soon as he purchased the gs. Now I would feel bad telling him.
