Default The rattle eludes me...

...well, the dealer actually. I have this super annoying rattle underneath the center console at low speeds its really noticable, sounds like underneath the car.

So I finally have time to get my car into the dealer...but the temps got up to around 40 degrees or so (been single digits to twenties lately)....and the freakin' rattle disappeared. The dealer said they weren't able to replicate the noise and they checked over things and couldn't find anything.....

.....so fast forward to the next day, it dipped below freezing...and the rattle reappeared. It's my arch nemesis...I vow to defeat it one day.

But on the plus side, I ordered l-tuned sides, UGO duck spoiler, and UGO roof spoiler Now just looking for the proper rear to compliment.

Do you have any pics of what the UGO duck spoiler looks like?

Can see more pics in his thread. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=83270

Oh yeah, I haven't forgotten about your taillight film. I just haven't gotten around to getting it cut out yet. I'll try to get it cut by this weekend, k?

grrr....well, rattle is still there...whether warm or cold weather....but there's something interesting. When I free rev the car (park/neutral) it makes the rattling and seems to be coming from underneath the car around the rear seat area....so I think I can rule out the suspension. Could the exhaust be rattling against something???

Always possible but I would assume other Tanabe owners would have said something by now. My exhaust rattles too but it is hitting another aftermarket piece. If it was just the exhaust, I think I would be OK. The exhaust rattle is pretty loud for me but goes away somewhat after the the car is warmed. I had to play with the hangers a bit to get the two pieces to clear. All this time I thought you were talking about the interior rattle like some of us have.

I don't know if yours is the exhaust but I just wanted to say that it is possible.

Try to check the bolts on the swaybars, make sure nothing is loose..........thats what caused the rattle i had which was also very noticeable at low speeds.

your exhaust might be hitting 1) the rear end or 2) the driver side of the rear bumper along the wheel well.

go check

Tran, I think I'm beginning to experience the same problem as you.. it definetly seems exhaust related.

It's either a low buzz or shimmer sound I just can't describe. Is yours similar?

On a side note, and not to jack your thread Tran ...

I'm kinda glad I got rid of my Greddy.. It's becoming a bit too popular.

Hmmmm, searched through the forums again...happened upon this thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=rear+rattle

So I looked underneath my car this afternoon (after installing my UGO duck spoiler )...and found this alledged "bar" right about where I hear the noise is coming from. Seems like my exhaust is resting right on top of this bar..maybe like a 1mm away from it. I took it off for now to see if the noise is still there...but I have a feeling that was my rattle.

Anyways, what's the function of this bar? Just to keep the exhaust from falling in case the rubber hangers fail??? I would like to put it back in...but I gotta find a way to keep the exhaust from rattling and making noise...maybe wrap the bar with something???

Awww...yeah, the GReddy is popular...if I didn't live in the snow belt and have to drive this car daily...I'd probably pick up a Veilside or AB Flug kit....but I gotta be practical about it.....and urethane is definitely practical.
