Paint Remover....I bought mines at Home Depot. Yes....and lots of elbow grease....and tons of patience.

It took me about 2-3 hrs. to complete the job. I worked on 2-3 slats at a time.

try goo off , it worked wondors 4 me...do u want teh whoile thing chromed or just the front parts of the bars?

well if you only chrome the outmost vertical strip like me, not much elbow grease at all
