ok so far the fog lights went out, the cd changer broke, the back right child safety lock was broken when i purchased it and he said it would be like 3 or 400 bucks to fix and he said to take off the pannles is a hard process, and after 80+ mph the car starts to shake a bit could it be the strut support or tires or what?

any help or info would be great

 

You bought your car by auction, correct? No idea how the previous owner(s) treated the car? Hopefully (1) you either are relatively handy at diagnosing and repairing what are potentially small problems, (2) you plan on becoming handy starting immediately, (3) you are ready to fork out some cash to get these items addressed, or (4) you decide these problems are not so big after all and don't get them fixed.

Not sure if you are in Norcal or Socal, but there are many members that would be happy to refer you good repair places. For the high speed wobbles: Inspect the rims and tires for dings, dents, bulges, etc. You may have worn or damaged tires or damaged rims. Bring the car in for a wheel balance and alignment. There's not a lot that can go wrong with the fogs, perhaps the bulbs need replacing, the wiring harness has been damaged or it could be the on/off switch. For the CD changer, did it work when you got the car? Check that your cartridges are mechanically sound and look for junk in the changer. Clean the optics. If the changer is truly broken, consider buying a used changer or switching to an aftermarket. As for the child safety switch, perhaps other can comment -- I have not taken off the rear panels so I can't comment on difficulty but $300-$400 seems like a lot. There's also a difference between time consuming and difficult -- at dealer rates either one can be expensive.

Auction cars are AS-IS...right? So its to be expected that there are some problems since you can't test drive it.

Dude....I hope you realize that you still got a great price on that car....even with the fixes. Hopefully...those are the only problems.

 

Take the vehicle to a Lexus dealership and have it inspected. You seem to already have a lot of issues on this car. The inspection may uncover other problems that you may not be aware of.....

 

Actually, auction cars are not as is......if the miles on the car are still within spec of the factory warranty, then the car would still be covered by that warranty...doesnt matter where you bought it. If its out of that warranty period, then your out of luck unless you purchase an aftermarket warranty.
