A760E Swap?
I got to thinking about the progression in automatic transmissions and sizing between the various Lexus models. The early 1UZ cars were first fitted with the A340E 4spd auto (technically 3 w/ OD, but nobody calls it OD anymore), and then later used the A650E 5spd auto when the 1UZ was upgraded to VVT. The LS/SC/GS430 then used the A650E, but then the LS & SC later received the A760E 6spd auto. Now they all might use separate bell housings, but... in theory, a 760 should fit where a 650 (or even a 340) went.
Yes, immediately, practicality comes to mind, as well as "if you're already swapping the transmission why not put literally anything else there?". This has been on my mind for a while. Has anyone accomplished this kind of a swap? Have they been able to retain button shift functionality? Are there any other problems people have encountered? Genuinely curious.
