Whinning noise
I uave a 2001 gs 300 with 270k miles, I was in a hurry this morning and gassed up with out shutting off car. Didn't take much, just topped off. Took off and as soon as I hit the gas there was a prominent whining noise then the VSC ABS VSC OFF lights came on, stayed on for a sec, dashboard flashed as i accelerated to hit freeway speeds, code lights went off then came back on and stayed on for the remainder of my drive. Got to job turned off car then back on lights off but whining noise still there. Any same experience out there? I will always shut car off when fueling regardless
I am certain it had nothing To do with the car running while you were getting gas. That was just a coincidence. You should get a check engine light along with the VSC Off light. Even if it was only on briefly it will still register a code the OBD history, if you can get it scanned, any auto parts store will scan your car for free if you don’t have access to a scanner. I am not sure what could cause the whining noise you’re describing at the same time as the other symptoms, it’s possible something broke and interfered with something in the engine? If it’s a loud noise or it seems to be effecting the car performance then I would suggest you get it locked at right away. If the noise is minor or intermittent then you could just it looked at the first chance you get. Anytime your car is acting unusual, noises or lights coming on the dash, there is something wrong and it needs to be fixed. It’s hard to get an accurate diagnosis in a forum unless you can really explain the problem and help diagnose what is causing it.
