Default P1755 code

Having hardshift problems with the code p1755. Did a lot of research that leads it to PCM problem. Bunch of mix reviews on where to send it to. SIA was quick to respond to my first question then nothing afterwards. Tanin rep told me it’s fixable by replacing capacitors but not guarantee it’ll fix the hardshift. Both companies seem to have long turn around times 2weeks to a month. Any experience or input is appreciated.

If I was diagnosing this code, I wouldn't be looking at the computers first, that would be an extremely rare issue. Check wiring for sure, but the shift solenoid may have failed or be stuck, or the fluid may be dirty and passages in the valve body plugged up. I'd pull the pan, look for metal and inspect the pick up for debris, then ohm test the solenoid. You can power/ground it and make sure it applies/disengages.

How rough are the shifts? Is it hard for every shift up and down? Or just when it’s cold and when it shifts at full throttle? I have heard of the ECU malfunction causing a hard shift problem, I thought it was just an issue on the later models with the 6speed trans? You definitely want to do some confirmation before you get the ECU rebuilt. There is no guarantee that it’s repairable. If it’s really bad and the circuit board is damaged they might not be able to repair it. You might consider buying a used ECU from a wrecking yard or something? You’ll need to make sure and get the keys, ignition switch and key lock cylinders because the ignition and key are coded to the ECU. You also need to make sure the ECU has the same part number as yours, this is probably the less expensive option compared to getting it rebuilt and you won’t have any down time.
