Default Possible Lock actuators

I recently bought a Lexus gs430 and the first issue I noticed was all four doors don't lock when I press the lock button in the car. I also got a new battery for my dead key and still the issue isn't fixed. I was told it could be lock actuators. please help.

It’s very common for the lock actuators to go out on these, plenty of threads on the topic including DIY how-to. Haven’t done it personally but looks straightforward enough. The servos that control vents (floor to dash to defrost etc) are also prone to failure, that’s a much more difficult process.

I think there is a control module in the drivers door that receives the command and sends the signal to all the doors. It is likely a control device, not 4 failed actuators. You can also try a hard reset by disconnecting the car battery for a good 15-30 minutes and reset all the computers by doing so. Sometimes they revert back to normal operation. You might need to be prepared to clean your throttle out though, because it resets everything and wont idle right if the throttle is gummed up.

There are four door control modules. One in each door. Actuators are connected to them.

Actuators are toast bud. Plenty of DIY. First timer you'll learn LOL

About 5 years ago I took a day off work and replaced 3 of the 4 actuators in my 430 (back doors & driver side). Did back doors first, they were pretty easy, took about an hour per. The drivers door was a PITA - for me anyway. It has a few more creature comfort connections, a longer brittle cable, and I remember a funky steel rod that connects to into the back of the handle somehow. That door took me about 3 hours. I hope the passenger door keeps working, knock on particle board, as I'm not looking forward to changing its actuator out.

So if you're somewhat mechanically inclined, you can change them out yourself. Just take it slow and be careful as there are some old, probably brittle plastic parts in there.
