04 GS300 Codes P0980 & P0505
Last night, an accident behind me occurred, and in order to evade it, I accelerated pretty hard and to the left, out of the way. In doing so I broke traction, the VSC did its job and corrected, and all was fine. We stopped and assisted people in the accident, and when I got back to my car and started it, the CEL, VSC, and VSC OFF lights were all on. I very carefully drove it home and ran the codes. It threw a P0980 and a P0505. I cleared the codes and drove it normally today to see if anything felt off. It is shifting normally, and running smooth. Unfortunately, the codes came back, so I guess they are for real.
Is it total happenstance that this occurred right after my near collision, or could they somehow be related? Any insight on these codes? Im guessing the shift solenoid is a straight replacement, but its sounding like the Idle Air Control code could be anything from a faulty valve, MAF, or dirty/failing throttle body.
Any and all insight is welcome and appreciated.
Thank you 😊

Interesting that it says to address the code for the shift solenoid first if other codes are present with P0505.
not sure what to think about that.
I will still take it to my mechanic this upcoming week.
