Hi guys new to forum I was just wondering what to do. About a month ago my power steering pressure hose was leaking rapidly and my mechanic modified a rubber hose and did some stuff cause there was no oem parts available and then a few days later it started leaking again from the bottom near what I believe to be the pressure hose. I was out of town for the last month so It was sitting in the garage but it looks like it’s been dripping but at a very slow rate as there isn’t much fluid in my garage and the past 10 days I’ve been driving fine it’s just steering has gotten marginally rougher by the day as it drips occasionally after and during driving it. Recently at low speeds it’s started to make a small whining sound and my mechanic said he ordered parts for it that won’t come till early December. I can still steer comfortably with two hands and since it was dripping at such a low rate I wasn’t too concerned about it since I don’t drive long distances for long periods of time so I have about 2 weeks until the I started hearing the whining sound. Now I’m starting to get paranoid and idk if for the next 2 weeks if I should just not drive it at all or is it fine to drive until steering becomes physically exhausting. On average I probably drive around like 3-5km a day as I work fairly close to home and don’t really have much going on for me in life rn so I just want to hear opinions on whether I should just drive it for the next 2 weeks till it becomes too stiff if it happens by then. Thank u guys

It's probably doing most of the leaking out in the street, or onto the undercarriage tray. I would keep topping that reservoir up, use ATF, Dex3 or higher. You probably could have found all your hoses on ebay, and received them Ii n 3-4 days the power steering system is about the biggest source of fluid leaks. Have your tech rebuild the pump or replace it while you have it apart. Probably do your valve cover gaskets at the same ale time and you'll be good to go for another 100k miles
My bigger concern for you is that the leak is getting on your alternator which will kill it eventually.
