Isn't a torque converter way to increase torque on GS300? I am not a mechanic though...

yes it's a way, it will help. but the effect isn't as dramatic as what it can do on the gs400/430

I prefer the low to mid range power just because it feels faster. aka the s2000 whos powerband isnt up until 9K in the redline. Yes the car can run 14s with a professional driver but even Motor Trend (or C&D I cant remember which) said "but the average driver can expect mid 15s at the track.

"horsepower sells cars...torque wins races"

You wont be increasing any torque at the engine with a TC. You just make better use of the power band by being able to stall up to the more optimal torque range.

Its true that an S2000 is a very fast car, but it requires a highly skilled driver who will be workign his butt off to keep the RPMs very high in order to accelerate at peak hp constantly. Otherwise, the car is no faster than a typical accord.

A GS400 however, will pull hard at ANY rpm, with almost any driver at the wheel.

I'd want a nice, flat (or rising), torque curve. Which would mean high horsepower.

intake and exhaust will get you a couple HP. maybe. But for any serious performance gains, you're going to have to spend $$$
