Isn't this question erroneous?

Torque is a measurement of rotational force, HP is an imaginary number rooted from a torque measurement. You can't 'like' HP more than you like torque.

I'm no math/car genius..this question just seems sorta odd.

Exactly correct. Power ratings are derived from torque and RPM. Power (either horse or kilowatt) is the RATE of doing torque. Dynomometers don't measure horsepower or kilowatts, they measure torque and convert it to a horsepower number.
What most people prefer in a car is the feeling of acceleration at relatively low engine RPM, and the responsiveness of the engine to throttle input, as opposed to having to wind the snot out of some GSR or S2000 to get into the torque and power band. That's why we love our V-8's, isn't it?

Good question! I'm just about finished moving into the new house and the next step will be a project car (the GS will be the daily driver). I've narrowed it down to a Stang or a SC300 5-spd. I'm leaning toward the Lex but I've had a 12 sec. 93 Cobra before and the torque is so much fun. I've also had a Stealth TT which ran comparable 1/4mi's but felt so much slower. I assume with a turbo, the lex would be comparable to the stealth (fast but not the torque).

The real thing we prefer, Drew, is more pics of your car. Correct me if i'm wrong but i've only seen 2 pics of your car with the salina's on. I found a set and they are sitting in my garage waiting for a couple tires and can't wait to see what they look like.

You can't have horse power without torque, and that's why i choose the GS430. It's like step on it, and hang on yeaha.

Show me the dyno charts - peak HP or TQ are good for bragging rights but it's the area under the curves that matter. I'd gladly sacrifice peak numbers for a better curve.
