I just bought my 2nd gen Gs300 and would like to do an oil change, I did I a little research and found 2 styles of oil filters, unsure of which to buy, car sits too low for a jack… Id like to have the filter and oil ready before I mess with figuring out how to get under it. Anyone know whether the 1999 model has a standard oil filter or the enclosed oil filter? Thanks.

you should be able to see/reach the oil filter from the top of the car. The filter is on the right side of the engine (driver’s side)

You can change the oil on this car by driving it up on ramps, no jack required.

 

Ramps disagree with the car, found that out with a trailer but it gave me jack access… Was not expecting to have to trailer it until the engine blew, couldn’t get access to wood or anything to help with the angle, car sat too low, needs a new bumper now.
