Default Single Click- No Start

Hey y'all! I have a '95 GS300, I just did a head gasket replacement but replaced all the gaskets from the head up. I just finished it up last night and had to jump the car due to a dead battery but I let the battery charge for about 30-45 minutes before I tried starting it. I turned the key from the accessory to all the way over and all I hear is a click sound coming from around the starter. I am getting no rotation from the engine. I don't know if I am missing a ground somewhere, or the battery is to dead to completely get the starter to fully get the flywheel to rotate. Any advice or tips would be extremely helpful!

Hello,

Did you machine the head or the block at all?

First, try using a wrench to rotate the engine by hand, you need to make sure that it spins at all before proceeding any further.

If that's good, it will depend on what kind of click is it, from a relay, or from the bendix solenoid, if the latter, then the starter may be toast, a proper way to test it would be to bring it to any parts store, they can test it for free, but you can also try hitting it a couple of times to see if it will get unjammed. If it is just a Relay click that you hear, you will have to trace the power going from the relay to the starter solenoid and to the motor itself, also checking the Grounds around the engine.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
