Default Code p1300 & p0715

Car turned on perfectly, drove it for while then parked it and it shut off. Turned on again and turned off again but car runs perfect for while then happens again. I already replaced the igniter?

You're posting in the wrong forum section (this is the 1GS forum 1993-1997)..

Although, have you taken off your battery cables and pulled the ECU fuse for 10-15 minutes to allow the codes to clear after replacing the igniter?

P1300 is the igniter circuit malfunction which could be the igniter or a broken wire (perhaps chewed on by rodents?) or bad signal to ECM (could be ECM issue perhaps?)
P0715 appears to be a transmission error, Input/Turbine speed sensor circuit malfunction (O/D Direct Clutch Speed Sensor). Could be a broken wire, the O/D direct clutch speed sensor, the ECU, or the automatic transmission.

P1120 is Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction, which can be an open or short in accelerator pedal position sensor circuit, the pedal position sensor itself, or the ECU.

A list of codes is here in the 2nd gen GS forum: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...cel-codes.html

Where was the bad connection for you? I'm having the same code and would greatly appreciate it!

Hello,

Does your car run stable?
DO you have any other codes?

This is a forum section designated for 1993-1997 Lexus GS300, here is a link to a 1998-2005 GS300/400 section.

A P1300 code means that the ECU is missing an IGF signal, the confirmation that the coil has fired. If the car runs as it should, check the wire from the Igniter to the ECU, refer to the pinout below. If the car doesn't run, check that the Igniter operates as it is shown in the video below; if it does, check the wiring and the ECU. If the car misfires, check each coil with a Spark Tester like this one, then check High Voltage wires, if all that is good, check the wiring and the Igniter.

As for the P0715, there should be a Speed Sensor on the back of the transmission, which, once powered, should supply 4 Pulses per each revolution of its shaft. Here is a post describing how to test one.

P1120 Code means that there is an issue with an Acceleration Pedal Position Circuit. That sensor is located on the throttle body, and it incorporates two Position sensors that back each other up. Check that you do have 5V coming to it, then check the voltage on each of the two output pins while opening and closing the throttle to verify its operation.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you this is very helpful! We do have a 99 GS300 so I'll look at the link you provided. The car runs fine, we have the code for the irregular speed from transmission control module AND the evap system AND a transmission solenoid we're trying to identify.

To clarify, you were able to identify that the wire going to the ECU was the culprit?

I have no clue, I don't even own a GS..

If the car runs fine, the code may be caused by a missing connection between the ECU, or by the Igniter itself not sending out the necessary confirmation. Try resetting the code by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see which of them will come back, since a fail-safe mode for a P1300 code is shutting off the injectors to prevent the catalyst from cooking itself.

As for the other codes, it is hard to tell anything without knowing what codes in particular are there.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
