Exclamation Timing job questions

So I'm sure I need to have my timing adjusted. I HAVE NEVER DONE TIMING BEFORE. I'm pretty capable of doing most repair/maintenance/upgrades, however I have never done timing on a car before. I'm just wondering if this is something I could do? How long it will take? What are things to consider? Would timing cause the motor a "whaa whaa whaa" noice (speed of noise depending on rpm )?

Any help guys, thanks.

If you are talking about just setting your ignition time then it will only take a few minutes as long as your distributor isn't off a tooth. All you will need is a timing light, jumper wire and a 12mm wrench.

I haven't taken the belt cover of to inspect the timing is self but it sounds like it is a bit off.
