Only 280HP Seems NOS may be the better route.

Doesn't look too nice either. Sight for sore eyes. I'd pass.

well thats 280 stock can be boosted. I dunno the miles on it but the 2nd pic look alright when they dusted it off. I mean a 96 2jz-gte with like 40k miles is like $3.5k. This would go right into the gs. I dunno just toying around with ideas. Still alot cheaper than a turbo.

that aristo engine is the same as the supra just tuned down a couple horses. Here is what you are forgetting. There is a 2jz-gte japan spec on ebay right now for $3,600 and thats just the engine. No wires, ecu, ignition anything. That front clip has everything you need to do a swap even down to the proper engine mounts for a gs3 and a 4 speed trans, dunno if its the same as the current one i have. Sure its used and "doesn't look good" doesn't mean it won't run well once you get it cleaned up and in my case i'd do many upgrades on the engine before it went in anyways. You would have to add at least another $1k to that engine on ebay just to get it to work right in the gs.

heres the supra engine on ebay 2JZ-GTE

Good find. I would love to go into the dealer for an oil change with that sittin' under the hood just to see their reaction!

Wouldn't you run into probs, though, since Japan has diff. gas and since the firewall is a little different with the steering wheel on the right side instead of the left?

don't think it really matters about the gas cause, as for the firewall i'm sure i can use the stuff there and the stuff i have to make it work. maybe fabricate some parts or something. good questions though.

it says $2500 plus shipping but if your in cali shouldn't be much. includes everything in the engine bay and the trans. Basically chopped off the front of an aristo. I looked into the gasoline part of it and it doesn't matter, i'd imagine that you could use combine parts from the steering linkage from that aristo and a gs300 and make it work fairly easily. **** if I had the money i'd be on that.

hmmm, i was informed that if you do get that 2jz-gtte (280hp), you might encounter some trouble
for getting some replacement parts. that's probably why it's kind of cheap..for $2500.00
the parts im talking about are like maintenance parts. some of these parts are not available straight from the dealer, either lexus or toyota. correct me if im wrong, though.

but if you do get the u.s. version supra twin turbo, you can go anywhere and acquire parts for it just
like that........left and right.

im interested on this front clip. matter of fact, i called the guy earlier today and he has two of them.
one for 2500 with auto tranny and other one 5000 with 6spd tranny. both have uncut wiring harnesses..

i couldn't tell you about the parts for the engine, i dunno how different they are but if you look at a picture of a us spec and the jap spec they look identical. I assume that there may be differences but there shouldn't be much. If you are serious about it you should ask someone with more knowledge on this than me good luck though.

If one of you does this you should talk to the guy who wrote this because he says that one of the turbos doesn't fit. I knew I remembered reading that somewhere!

good point pianoman, now that I think of it though isn't the 2jz-ge and 2jz-gte identical misus the turbo's, injectors, and manifold? I mean might as well pick up a manifold and single turbo setup.

well, let's say you pick up that front clip for 2500, then get custom made manifold for single turbo, it will probably costs over 5000 including minor things in order to convert to single turbo.

still not bad considering a complete us version supra motor on gs300 or is300.......which runs around
7, 8 or even 9-10 thousand bucks........tht's motor and labor........included
