Default manually shifting gs3?

Just a question i noticed that it feels like i get alot of extra acceleration if i manually shift from 1st to 2nd and to drive. I'd imagine this wouldn't be too good for the trans and not worth it?

I'm in on the question. I want to know. And I do a lot of that too. I just miss stick shift, I guess. I did not notice a big difference in acceleration though, to me both of them feel the same. But when you switch manually, you feel like you actually have control.

i believe i was told that manual shifting is not a good idea and it will damage our tranny.........well, somehow. sometime, if i want to race someone on the frwy, fr example, its either i take "overdrive" button off or i downshift to "s". i did tried doing the manual shifting off the line, just to see how strong the car will pull but i wouldn't do it all the time. when i do race on the frwy, like passing someone, sometimes i just "floor" the car but i think it's much better when you downshift to either "s" of take overdrive switch to "off".......

what do you guys think>

i think manual shifting was made just to go up hill and down hill. i don't think it was disigned to keep in 2 up to 5-6000 rpm then shifting to D. i've also done it a few times and i just have a bad feeling about it. we have the ECT button that will hold the gear to optimal RPM so use it.
