Code 78 1994 Lexus GS300
OK,, new here,, and this is a bit different that the boards im use to, so that being said,, if this needs to be moved, please do,
Ok, on to the problem,, 1994 Lexus GS 300, we got it last week, has 145K on the clock, seems to run well, , anyway , the other day was driving it , when the check engine light came on, and a few miles later it stalled, and would not restart, got it towed in, next morning, lo and behold , it started,, acted like it was flooded for a second, when it cleared up, ran fine, drove home, about 20 miles, and again, the check engine light came on, but, ran fine,
so , today, being my day off,, I pulled the codes, 71 (EGR) that one dont bother me, and 78 (fuel systen circut), this one bothers me, ive searched for something on code 78, and have come Up with nada, can somebody point me in the right direction?, im really not in shape to use , or trust a dealer , thanks

I had the same issue with my 94. It turned out to be my ECU. The capacitors in the ECU were leaking and had to replaced. There is also a fuel pump controller in the rear thar have been known to go bad as well.

^^ Those also sound like some great things to look into.. It seems the capacitor issue in the ECU is the #1 problem i see keep arising when these cars have problems (next to EGR and TPS issues)
