DOT approved "Aristo" tail light?????

Look at the pic. The top one is just Japanese, but bought in US, the other was purchased/shipped from Japan, but has SAE/DOT info on it. Also, the appearance is different. DOT approved (bottom) one is darker and it's not the lighting. I am confused. Aren't these things supposed to be JDM only?


BTW, I am going to be putting one of them up for sale in the next few days if you guys are interested.

i've noticed the same thing on other japanese parts. for some reason the design and production changes maybe due to the supplier etc. especially when you purchase parts from the dealer they tend to ask what year your car was made so they can sell you the approriate part. the bottom line is as long as they are authentic japanese parts. btw how much are you asking for one of 'em?
