Kind of unless his engine is done and he wants to keep the car, but doesn't want to go GTE. I am told the 1UZ-FE V8 is not a bolt in swap.

My mechanic is a Lexus master tech and he previously told me the 2GS 2JZ-GE inline 6 engine is a bolt in swap. I don't know whether or not you need the trans, but if you can get it, you might as well do that too.

It's too much of a hassle to get the 2GS 2jz working for very very minor gains. The wiring will be a nightmare since the 1GS never game with VVTi.

exactly why not just stick with the 2jz from a 93-97 gs300? the 98 and up only came with vvti which sucks plus it's ob2 so the motor will go in fine but the wiring is a whole other ball game. why not opt for a aristo motor 2jzgte?
