Default Another new guy

Sorry for the weird username, I am aguynamedpat on 90% of the forums I am on, but that username is too long for this one . Anyway, whats going on everyone? I just traded my 91 TSI AWD for a 94 GS300, and I absolutely love this thing. Ive had it for a few days, and of the 16 cars I have owned this is by far my favorite to drive. It is black, 100% stock, 191k miles. Was a one owner car until December of 09, then my buddy purchased it from the old couple who owned it. He drove it for two months and then I acquired it. I have a HUGE stack of maintenance records for the car too

I dont have any pics worth posting right now, the weather has been terrible here lately with tons of rain. Today looks nice so I will snap some pics later today and post them. Car is in overall good shape. Paint isnt fading or anything because it was garaged most of its life, but it does have some scratches that will definitely need at least a wet sand, buff, and wax to get out. Interior is in great shape, few minor stains, no rips or tears in the leather. And the best part is EVERYTHING works: all power options work, 12 disc changer works, ac/heat work, seat heaters work, everything.

The only issue it is having is somewhat of a cold start issue, but only when it sits overnight. It can sit for 6 hours while I am at work and it cranks right up, only happens when it sits overnight. When I go to crank it in the mornings, the first time I turn the key it will just click. It takes two or three times, but it finally cranks. I was skeptical about the battery because Ive had these same issues before, but the battery is not even 2 months old. Im going to run by Advance today and have them check my battery just to see if the CCA's are too low. Any ideas in case the battery is good?

Thanks man. The site is awesome, I love the huge member base.

I am going to take the car to Advance tomorrow on the way home, screw Auto Zone. Some girl came out with a device to test the battery that looked older than I was, and I did not trust it at all. Then she goes well your battery is fine so its gotta be your alternator. I just hung my head in disbelief and closed the hood.

A lot of the scratches cannot be wet sanded and buffed. The car will need a respray, but it will be a while before I can afford that.

Got a crappy pic today. Here it is:

I dont. I plan to do simple things like tint the windows, wheels, lower, maybe some HID's. But it will need a paint job first. It will be a slow process, but I do have some small plans like that.

Yeah, for now I need to figure out my small issues that all came about in the last couple days:

-Car does not like to start on the first try. If I turn the key it just clicks, doesnt try to turn over. If I turn the key immediately again, it will start. If I take turn the key to "off," then try to crank it again, it will click again. I know this is confusing but do you follow me?

-Traction control and CEL came on today. Need to pull the code, gotta figure out how to do it on these OBD1 cars. It seemed to idle a bit rough after I drove it home, so Im sure that hos something to do with the CEL. Ill go search on how to pull the codes.
