Default GTE Specialists help me out please

Ok after my gte swap my car has given me alot of problems. Most were my fault like not getting a new radiator until it broke lol. But this time idk what happened and my car is now stuck at a friends shady apartment complex.

I was just cruising on the freeway, not accelerating or anything. Temperature was cool, new optima red top battery, everything was going good. Then out of nowhere my engine cuts off, and i hear a pop. im assuming that pop was the exhaust when the engine shut off because i did hear it in the back. Had to tow the car and now its just sitting there.

It cranks, i smell fuel, but it just wont start. everything is in its place, nothing is loose. all intercooler and intake piping is on tight. Im seriously stuck on what it could be. i havent looked to deep into the problem, because i havent had time. and its about 45 minutes away from my house. But if anyone can tell me what things to check then ill do it. once i hopefully get some more info from you guys ill head back down there and try them all.

Thank you

Check for spark first to ensure your ignition system is operative and while you're in there check the plugs as well (doubt plugs are the cause, but you can take a look at them to ensure they aren't out of gap, etc). Check dipstick to ensure oil looks normal (non-milky), although if it were a popped HG you would have seen a hellacious smoke cloud. It sounds ignition related to me, so make sure ignitor harness and all coil pack harnesses are secured.

First thing to do is check for codes....you will need to jump E-1 - T1 in the dignostics box and read the blinking lights.
Check all your connections to0 your coil packas as well as the ginitor. If you can, swap ignitors with someone close by with the same engine and see if that starts the car./

also is it a stock 2jzgte? what mods have you done to it recently? raised psi or anything like that. This might help diagnose it also.

While the Spark, Compression, fuel , and grounds need to be checked, the pop could have been inter cooler piping that came off, but since u checked the piping, the pop could have been unburnt fuel in ur exhuast, which could point to something faulty in the ignition system?

the pop i think was like you said the fuel just burning, some backfire from when the engine randomly shut off.

mods are, Intake, Full exhaust, Boost controller which for some reason wont boost past stock psi. thats the main performance mods.

but like you and everyone else said, i also think its ignition. ill check that out next time i go. ill check the fuses and the coils.
