Default Electrical Issue, please advise

Hey guys, been a member here for a while, first time posting.
I have a 1995 Lexus Gs300, and I have been having a weird issue, which involves the Telescopic Steering wheel control to stop working, and the radio(goes out), the clock and the trip odometer to reset by it self. I checked the fuses but they seem to be fine.
The problem seems to go away on its own, but keeps coming back. What do you guys think it could be? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

if there is a short on the ignition switch, should the radio and clock and the trip odometer have reset it self while driving?
what are packrats?
Thanks

Check your main ground cable, usually those get corroded quick and over time.

I'm not POSITIVE, but follow the negative cable to a point on your chassis.

I'll double check for you. Have to look through schematics.

Hey guys, someone just told me about this but I don't know how true it is.
About a month before this started happening, i had replaced my cd player and come to find out the wiring harness that was used for the previous installation was alll jacked up. Is it possible that some wires are touching back there that is causing this to happen?
Thanks

I had this problem before on a nissan, it ended up being the ground cable. Might want to check that like CopperShot said. But I am not 100% either on this particular car.

i have seen this problem with the ignition switch especially if you have a ton of key's along with you car keys the extra weight tends to wear the cylinder

Just so I understand this right, because of the ignition switch, my radio, interior lights, clock, trip odometer, and telescopic streering wheel would stop working?

About a month ago I had a new cd player installed and the wiring in the back was allll messed up. Could it be because i need a new wiring harness?

thanks

follow it from the battery, but it grounds to the chasis down low near the ac compressor and then continues to the engine.
