Default Tein Ride Adjustment

can't figure out which beats me up more, the country road or the hockey game today.

anyway i do drive on some not so hot roads the ride is too jarring. on smooth pavement handling is insane, but for day-day i need some give.

is it possible and how do you soften the tein shocks? - i see a big nut on top. i've adjusted the ride height up for winter.

thanks

On the top of each shock, there is space for the Tein tool to adjust the stiffness.

that doesn't adjust the stiffness, if you back taht nut all the way off the top, and jack the cat up, the strut will fall out of the spring.

dont' adjust that nut.

you should have a little **** on the top that had a small allenkey hole in the top. turn that, it adjust the damper

btw, what teins are you running?

yep there is a little rubber cap, and under is the allen key nut. Turns easily by hand clicks to about 3 full turns. now have to find out which way CW or CCW for soft.

I have the tein cs and I was referring to what you were saying. It's that [ ] which you turn.

why dont' you just turn it fully one way, and push on the car, if it moves up and down like normal it's on soft. turn it fully the other way, and it should be on hard then, push on the car, if it barely moves then you'll have your answer

it's not rocket surgery

Make sure you read the manual. You can damage the shocks if you soften the ride too much. Like with many Teins with damping adjustments, there should be **** that clicks as you rotate it. Tighten (clockwise) all the way and make sure you don't go more than 16 clicks left (counter clockwise). Confirm with your manual first.

I love my tien's they are perfect, a little bouncy at times but 90% of the time I love them.

Just wish they weren't sized so I course raise the car a little for winter... I hate snow plowing.

i have a set of has on my car and i have them set at 12 front and back, so far its pretty stiff but enoguh give for the little bumps, but anything over like a 2-3" bump is pretty intense, makes the subs in the trunk bounce up and down lol

i backed-off the rears to almost full soft. didn't notice much difference. a little more ragged through the corner.

i think i need to remove the strut bar and go soft front, midway rear. got my porsche setup that way, i like it.
