New Head Unit Installed
IS THERE A HARNESS FOR AN AFTERMARKET HEAD UNIT??? I WAS TOLD TODAY BY CIRCUIT CITY METRA DOESNT MAKE A HARNESS FOR THE 1ST GEN... SO SOME HOW THE INSTALLER TWEAKED A HARNESS TO FIT MY 1ST GEN AND NEW HU... WHY DO THEY CONTINUE TO NEGLECT 1ST GEN OWNERS??? AND CIRCUIT CITY SUCKS FIRST IT TOOK 2 WEEKS FOR MY METRA DASH KIT TO ARRIVE THEN 3 HOURS TO INSTALL A HU
WTF!!! AFTER 3 LONG HOURS I RECIEVED FEEDBACK AND THE INSTALLER SUGGESTED I BUY NEW SPEAKERS AND AN AMP
NEVER WILL I PURCHASE OR GET ANYTHING INSTALLED BY THOSE CLOWNS AT CIRCUS CITY...
well its true. they certainly don't make a harness for our cars. which sucks.
he probably used the toyota harness, its already been posted that it could be modified and used.
also...circuit city blows. Don't take your car there, or best buy for that matter. They rob you for your money. I recently went to go get my headunit, amp, and sub installed and both places quoted me at $190 for an amp bypass ALONE, $80 for headunit install, another $200 for amp hookup and wires run to the speakers, AND another $80 for the sub install. F***in highway robbery.
I went to HiFi Audio in Edison, NJ and they did all that and a little extra for $280. If you do feel like going there, tell them Rob with the Gs300 sent you, they might cut you even more of a break. And it took 5 hours for everything.
(but for the record, you'll wanna change the amp and speakers at some point. They aren't that good to begin with)
I feel your pain, hope this info helps

Dayum... Rob!
Next time just take a ride to my place. I'll save u that $280
next time i surely will, and while we're on the topic, feel like putting on an exhaust? I'm having trouble making gaskets for it cause i don't have a tool that will cleanly cut the gasket board i'm using. My exhaust is an HKS prestige exhaust, discontinued but made for the 1st gen GS.
hmmm what do to...oh i got it...
hey todd....have i mentioned you're awesome?
