Default Big Transmission Problem

CAR Description: 93 GS300 w/ 150k miles

heres my problem iam trying figure out. the car has no reverse it just revs up as it would be neutral.

BUT neutral is no longer neutral it drives the car forward but only as "low 1" would do.

and D-2-1 all work as they should.

so my theory is that reverse "dropped down" to where nuetral is causing it to spin forward instead of in a reverse fashion.

but is this even possible, iam just lookin for some advise and in site.

Thanks, Derek

PS....really pissed cause i just bought this car not to long ago and have numerous streaks of bad luck with it.

you should expect problems from a car that is 15 years old... but that being said its sound like its a worn out linkage cable from the shifter to the tranny.

Check the fluid. If it's low, reverse is usually the first gear not to engage when cold.

The Ge ECU will not know how to properly shift a GTE transmission.

Trying to replace the GE with the GTE tranny is not a simple bolton. As Kaiser pointed out, the GTE is layed out differently and has a different layed out Tranny ECU that operates it. The answer is, no dont do it. I have PM'ed you about a potential replacement transmission.

No, they're the same. SC tranny will go into the GS.
