ok i know metra makes a single din and a double din installation
trim/kit... i see a picture of a single din, does anyone have
pix of the double din?
and i thought there was a 3rd party company or shop that
had made kits for our cars for like 30 bucks but it looked pretty nice.
does anyone have any links, info or pictures? thanks!
Heres mine. The fit and finish arnt totally OEM. The tab in the upper right corner that the screw goes in, broke off. Hence the cockeyed look. Im going to patch it with some sheet metal.
Mine broke on the same tab. My plan is to get a 2GS for the NAV and shave it to fit. Then get a single din gauge plate to put on the bottom with the radio above it. If I ever get around to it.
No one makes a double din kit for our cars as far as I know. I think everyone that has one, has a custom one. Either they take a single din and cut it to fit a double din headunit or I use a 2nd GS double din and also modify it to make it fit.
i just told u..
metra makes one for our cars.. part number 95-8154
and in their pictures it looks like this..
It's on their website, although there is no picture that I could find. If you select your car, and then select "KITS", there are 2 that come up. A double din and another one.
goto: http://www.metraonline.com/
goto the products tab
select your vechicle(IE: 1994 LEXUS GS300 4DR)
then select the drop down menu
and select KITS
now if it was easy to find pictures and info i wouldn't be asking.
it DOES exists.. Metra confirmed it and even sent me a PDF
and piture of it.. now i wanna see actual pictures of how people's
doubledin/single din came out.
thanks
Look I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but when I go to the site and look at the application chart for 93-97 GS300 under the double-DIN column it says N/A. There is also only one part number listed for that model. If you contacted them and they told you they had it and sent a picture...great. I don't know how Metra expects anyone else to know they have it. I'll have to follow this thread.
