Excessive heat

Default Excessive heat
For some reason, a lot of heat is coming from the tranny hump and the air vents. It will be like 65 degrees out and yet the interior is hot. Is this normal for this car? Could the heater valve be sticking open? It seems to close.

Both Lexus' I've owned have done it. I've heard the same from others. Probably the exhaust.

yea it does get a little warm but make sure you have the heat sheilds around the exaust it will help

Are the heat shields OEM or an aftermarket addition? If aftermarket, is it tape or ?

oem sheilds for some reason i have seen a couple cars with them missing

Hmm. Interesting. I wonder if mine are missing. Gee, I don't suppose you could take a photo of yours so that I know what to look for. Pretty please. If not, no worries. I'll take a look next time it's up on the rack at the mechanic's and ask them too to take a look.
