Default Haze on Instrument cluster

I have this weird Haze on my instrument cluster, when I first got the car I figured it might be moister or a thin film of grime. I took the dashboard appart and took the cluster, removed the clear plastic and cleaned the HELL out of it with 1. windex 2. Plastic cleaner 3. Shaving cream (yeah it sounds weird but it actually did remove some of it)

After an hour of elbow grease, nothing. Any TIPS?

I read somewhere about this plastic polish that parts stores sell.
I would certainly not use the same technique that I used for the headlights.

Plastix by Meguir's works great for clear plastic lights.

That crap has alot of pumice and other abrasives in it. It scares me to think what it would do to plastic.

Did my headlights with it. Came out perfect. Also did the shifter surround. No scratches.

I used Plastix too on haze/smudges on my instrument cluster that would not come off using anything else and it got most of it off. It is kind of tough to work it in because of the steering wheel so you may want to use a q tip to get at the corners.

Hmmm. M-kay. Maybe ill give that a shot on my lenses. I have wet sanded and polished to a clear shine but they always turn yellow again.

Well for the Head lights I have tried "brake fluid". Now I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS ON MY LEXUS. However I did do it on my wifes Neon and it works pretty well, gets rid of the haze and yellow film. But yeah just take some brake fluid and a rag and go to town. Make sure you clean off the fluid clean but it does a good job.

WTF ? Brake fluid eats paint off car. I wouldnt try that on my headlights unless you know what kind of plastic the lenses are made of. And yes I know the fluid sits in a plastic resovoir and comes in a plastic bottle, but it still scares me

I'm going to have to go with the above. We were discussing Flitz because of abrasives, brake fluid is corrosive! Don't wipe that on your car.

Plastix by Meguir's can be found at Pep Boy's, Kragen, etc. It's very common.
