Need help.....
I have had a vibration in my car and I took it to mechanic to look at it. Now the car needs engine mounts and transmission mount. The question is how many mounts does 1993 GS300 have? Where is the best place to buy them cheapest? Also he is charging me around $200 for labor (front two mounts and transsmission mount). He said for 3 mounts it will cost me $440 in parts plus $200 in labor. Is that too much?
I just called my local Lexus dealer and they told me $133 a piece for engine mounts and $68 for trans mount. Is that a good price? Do you guys know any cheaper places that carry them except Lexus dealer thank you.

there's probably many other 1st gen's who don't realize the engine mounts are torn and when this happens you loose some performance.
Here's a fact, the early MKIV and MKIII's used the same engine mount and these are stronger than the Lexus mounts. Height is the same fitment too.
differnce, the supra mounts use metal to encapsulate the rubber and fluid. The Lexus mounts is just rubber and with time rubber breaks down and the hydrlic fluid leaks out and the rubber tears.
I looked at early versions of LS400 mounts and these looked like MKIII/MKIV's but I didnt want to chance it.
I bought the MKIV TRD versions these are really strong but with my engine and tranny setup, I couldn't use them because of height and driveline alignment. Final solution was to use the MKIII/MKIV.
