Well its getting to be the time of year when we will be using them more often, so i figured id start this post to see what everyone uses. When i first bought my car mine were dry rotted so i got brand new ones, i got ANCO brand in a yellow box, ive always used these before with great success however on my GS they seem to chatter badly, smear and make a hiddeous noise and are very inneffective at clearing the windshield. What do you guys use and does anyone else have the same problem? Also it appears that there may have been Rain-x or some sort of wax on my windshield because it beads up, what would be the best thing to remove this with? ive tried glass cleaners etc... with no luck???
Some people say wipe your window with newspaper to try and get the rain-x residue off. It helped some for me in the past, although it wasn't 100% after.
For the hingeless beam style wiper blades I've had good luck with Trico brand. There seem to be a lot of manufacturers with their own version of this style. The blade on the trico was constructed differently others I've tried. Seems to be in a good way as it solved a lot of chatter/noise/streak problems for me.

I've always used rubber replacement from the dealer. Also, I apply a coat of car wax on the windshield. It eliminated squeaky noise and also disperses rain water faster.
You could try using acetone - nail polish remover, to remove the coating from the windshield. But, be careful not to touch the paint.

It’s the wax and road film that hinders your wiper blades to work properly.
You can take a blade and scrape your windshield or use ammonia to remove the wax and road film off the windshield.
I’ve seen car dealers use them. I know GM even has a part number for “window” cleaner. I’ve tried the commercial grade ammonia and the blade thing; both work well and helps the wipers work the way they should. You can get commercial ammonia at Home depot or Menards or ACE etc….
Remember these are commercial strength so they can be dangerous for your health and can also harm paint. So avoid getting it on anything painted. Wear gloves to protect your hands and also avoid inhaling the fumes.

i had rain-x when it chatters and put streaks all over my windshield...since then i switched to piaa super sporza and no complain. the fitment on the passenger side were kinda off even though they are the same lengths (the end of the piaas kind of hangs) but when they're in action there is no sign of that. the wiper blades are also silicone coated for water beading effect
yah mine are no good either. Don't know what is on the car right now but i may have to try Bosch. A little off topic... the car is still new to me so forgive my nooobie question.... why is there 2 windshield washer fluid resevoirs under the hood???
