If it's been well-maintained and has no leaks you should be alright. I'd get someone who is knowledgeable enough about these things to help you check it out. The mileage really ain't that big a deal especially if it's been properly maintained. My car is proof of that, I have a 223,000+ miles and my GS is still running strong.

If the body is as you say, I'd get it. Drive train for this car is cheap. Check your suspension specially the front's upper control arms and ball joints. The control arms are pricey.

How's the interior? you can always get new seat covers. But these aren't cheap.

Overall, anything for the JZS147 is expensive! I believe other than the brakes, engine and tranny, everthing else for this car was unique from any other toyota platforms. In otherwords they don't share many of the parts with other models, its all exclusive for the 1st Gen.

I've yet to find anyone on this forum or vendors who can validate this. Maybe the few who are in Japan can go to the Toyota dealers and validate this. In the US, neither Toyota or Lexus will make any effort to cross reference part numbers.

Good Luck!

I suggest getting a pre-purchase check done from a good Lexus mechanic or dealer. It's well worth the cost if they discover big problems. Also, run a carfax: www.carfax.com

if the car has a good body, i would buy it sight unseen for $2500.00

you can pick up a GTE swap for the same money and have a 350hp stock driving car for about $6k total.
